Catholic Life

We are incredibly proud of our Catholicity and aim to share this both within the school and wider community at every opportunity. Pupils and their families enjoy being part of the Catholic Life of the school and almost all actively participate with our groups and activities. Our families are proud to be part of the Holy Rosary community.

As a community, we work hard to support the vulnerable and needy through acts of charity at a local, national and global level, ensuring that Catholic Social Teaching is not only understood by our community, but also lived out through our work.

Celebration of Mass

The celebration of Mass is central to our Catholicity. We celebrate a whole school Academy Mass as a school in the hall at least once a half term. Classes take it in turn, to join the parish community at St. Joseph’s on Thursday mornings every half term. Pupils also take the lead in the celebration of Mass with our Parish community once a term to celebrate Sunday Mass

Our Parish – St Joseph the Worker

We have strong links with our local Parish, St Joseph the Worker, and our Parish Priest, Fr Neil Peoples, who is a Foundation Governors and a regular visitor to Holy Rosary. Children enjoy celebrating Mass at St Joseph’s where they are joined by staff and parishioners.  Holy Rosary collaborates with the parish in organising many social events.  Click on the link below to go to the Parish website:

Vocation and Mission

Our children are encouraged to lead the school in acts of charity and mission that support others. Such events and activities are shared via our school newsletter, Twitter and within the school reflection journal.

This year, in line with the vision of the St Ralph Sherwin CMAT, we are focussing our Vocation and Mission on our local communities and we will be supporting the YMCA, the Star Foundation, the Winshill Resource Centre and CAFOD.

Our Chapel, Prayer Garden, Prayer Areas and Communion Wood

We encourage the children to take time for spontaneous prayer. There are various areas around the school and within classes for the children to take this time to pray.

Our School Prayer

God our Father,

Thank you for our school, our community and Your unconditional love which brings us all together. Help us to be kind and fair, giving everyone the respect and dignity they deserve.

Mary, our mother, and Jesus, Your son, showed us a loving example of courage and strength. We will use their example to be the best that we can be. We will not give up, finding strength in You to guide us. We will be brave, standing up for what is right, even when we are in doubt. We will be loving, as the Holy Family are loving.

With Your help, our loving hearts and strong minds will grow, so we can

be living examples of your message to everyone we meet.

Amen
