We aim that Holy Rosary pupils have the ability and willingness to acquire the habits, dispositions and attitudes for future success that are reflected in our  Gospel values, Cardinal Values woven into our Character Behaviours – ‘The Hr Way’ and  Catholic Social Teaching Character Curriculum. Our implicit and explicit personal development and character education provision (through RSHE, PSHE and Catholic Social Teaching programme, alongside the wider curriculum) builds in experiences, direct instruction and opportunities to develop the following habits, attitudes, dispositions, values and character traits.

We use the resources created by TEN TEN to deliver our Relationships and Health Education Programme to pupils and their families through access to an specially tailored online learning platform.

Life to the Full is much more than a series of lessons. It is an entire platform of creative resources that will engage, inform and inspire our children and, indeed, you as parents. This includes interactive video content, story-based activities, employing a wide range of teaching tools, original worship music and an accompanying programme of classroom prayers.

Life to the Full is intended to be partnership between home, school and church. We know that you already do a fantastic job and we see our new programme, Life to the Full, as a means to further develop, support and enrich the partnership between home, school and church so that your child is fully supported.

Our RSHE policy is available below. It outlines how the school delivers RSHE within a Catholic framework, supporting pupils’ personal development through a safe, inclusive and age-appropriate curriculum. The Ten:Ten Life to the Full Plus programme promotes respect, healthy relationships, wellbeing and safeguarding, while working in partnership with parents and meeting statutory requirements.
Our PSHE/RSHE Curriculum Map demonstrates how curriculum expectations are met through our Caritas in Action approach, Catholic Social Teaching principles, PSHE, Forest School and the Science curriculum. As with all aspects of life at Holy Rosary CVA, this is underpinned by Gospel values.
Parents are kept informed about their children’s learning, particularly in relation to the teaching of correct anatomical terminology, menstruation and sex education. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from certain elements of sex education; however, some aspects are statutory within the Science curriculum. Opportunities to view teaching materials are provided via the Parent Portal, which is shared with families.

Programme Structure

LTTF PLUS OVERVIEW 1

In Life to the Full, we follow a three-stage structure which is repeated across three different learning stages:

  • Key Stage One is aimed at Years 1 and 2
  • Lower Key Stage Two is aimed at Years 3 and 4
  • Upper Key Stage Two is aimed at Years 5 and 6

Within each learning stage, there are three modules which are based on the Model Catholic RSE Curriculum:

  • Created and Loved by God
  • Created to Love Others
  • Created to Live in Community

Each Module is then broken down into Units of Work.
